Meeting Minutes

February 24, 2022

Call to Order
Officially began at 7:34 pm and was presided over by Traci Poppert, with Krista Bossaller filling in for Ellen McGuinness as secretary.

Director’s Report -- Mr. Gasemy
  • Brian & Nick taking pictures of old drums & props to sell.
    •  TJ has an excess of congos – trying to donate to the middle school program.
  • New concert piece for concert band; written less than a year ago.  Premier – free copy & clinic.
  • Sweetwater contacted Nick to make sure carts ordered fit the speakers that were ordered.
  • Concert band adjudication is next month.
    • No sight-reading this year; extra time for clinical.
  • No state adjudication this year.
  • No mask mandate starting 2/25/22.  Optional for staff & students.
  • Band Camp = last week of July & first week of August.
President’s Report – Traci
  • KIDA –
    • Cover grate with plywood (Nick) next time.
    • Trying to move home show to March for 2023.
    • Photobooth for students to purchase photos.
  • Jazz Night – Saturday 5/7, 6 pm.
    • Need one more parent to help on the committee.  Set up/clean up; oversee the group for future planning.
    • Donations for snack/desserts needed.
    • Silent auction – cakes & various other items.
Treasurer – Jaclyn
  • KIDA profit = $2,532.43; major expense was payment to the judges.
  • December budget -- $567.28 income & $9,475.02 expenses
    • Indoor fees & instructor/tech payments
  • January budget -- $12,395.84 income & $55,440.46 expenses
    • Instrument purchases
    • Still waiting on bibbers
VP1 – Teresa
  • Bibbers are coming along – ordering about 95.
  • Coordinating with Rob at DeMoulin to find out where we missed 20.
  • Working on processing books for uniform room (4 total)
  • Two positions left to fill – Moira Fisher volunteered for one.
  • FAQ’s – need an overall Uniform Room binder.
VP2 (Student Accounts) – Krista
  • Need to meet with Teresa to go over which accessory orders are outstanding & go over list of items (shirts) that students received on Marching Band photo day.
  • Keep track of volunteer hours!
Secretary – Ellen
  • Absent.
  • Everyone – please continue to read the monthly minutes and encourage other families to read them as well.
Fundraising – Denise Failacci
  • Scrip rebate total $305 -- $244 student & $49 general fund
  • Cookie sale kick-off
    • Julie sent out in FOF a reminder to students.
    • All students are required to purchase two boxes.
    • Flyers sent to students.
  • Spin-the-Bottle – 4/10?  Traci checking with Mark (owner)
    • Tickets will be $15 each (need to sell 50)
    • Will need a volunteer to help organize.
  • TRAINEES NEEDED –
    • Car washes – summer 2022 is Ellen’s last summer!
    • Restaurant nights
    • Uniform room
