April 11, 2022
Call to Order
The Band Boosters meeting officially began at 7:34 pm at GTJHS and was presided over by Traci Poppert, with Ellen McGuinness as secretary.

Director’s Report -- Mr. Gasemy

Director’s Report -- Mr. Gasemy
- “No fall show nailed down yet, but close…”
- MMBA put out a rough schedule outline last week for next fall.
- Last weekend Oct/1st weekend Nov = Regionals/States; waiting to hear from MMBA
- 9/10-ish = first marching band event
- Kim Hirschmann will be sending 2022 FCPS Marching Festival information soon.
- Bryan H has ideas to maximize the space in the trailers😊
- Instruments –
- The French Horn is in!
- Tubas & flutes are back-ordered.
- Most drums are in. Kyle Poppert is in charge of advertising to sell off un-needed drums.
- 4/30 = Old Line Banquet
- Marching Band meeting for 2022/2023 = Tuesday May 3, 6 pm. Mandatory for parents.
- HS kids have been/will be going to MMS & TJMS to work with the middle school kids.
- Practices reduced this spring compared to previous years, but some kids think that more practices are needed to be ready for the marching season in the fall.
President’s Report – Traci
- Jazz Night – Saturday 5/7, 6 pm.
- $5/person, regular concert
- Concessions available
- Banquet –
- student leadership planning team to help with events.5/1
- Wednesday 5/18 6-8 pm
- Open Board positions – vote is in May
- All positions are open.
- Both VP are essential and open positions! Teresa is moving & Krista’s stepson is graduating (Neil).
- Need a nominating committee/person.
- Nominations will be accepted until the next BB meeting, 5/31.

- May meeting = “Annual Meeting”

- 10 people are needed for a quorum!
Treasurer – Jaclyn
- $2868.92 in, $2969.00 out
- See attached spreadsheet.
Secretary – Ellen
- None.
VP1 – Teresa
- “We need you! It’s not hard, & its’s fun!”
VP2 (Student Accounts) – Krista
- All seniors are paid in full.
- Position advertisement!
- Easy & simple
- Not time-consuming (1-3 hours/month)
- Busier during marching season
- Krista will help the newbie!
Dan Failacci
- “at large” BB positions may be open for alumni – feedback at next meeting
- Check bylaws of sports programs
- Possibly non-voting positions
- VP2 is an appointed position (per bylaws)
- VP1 & VP2 have no designated roles.
Fundraising – Denise Failacci
- Cookies made over $800 (80+ boxes)
- Spin-the-Bottle
- $800 in ticket sales (more from other sales)
- The vendor donated the wine.
- The owner will offer $ to TJBB through Thursday.
- Hershey Park sales are continuing through 4/15.
- Scrip -- $272 rebate, with $218 to student accounts & $45 to the general fund.
New Business
- 4/30 = Old Line Banquet

- 5/18 = Band Banquet
- Olive Garden catering
- Build your own pasta, & gluten free/vegan options will be available
- Car washes
- Ellen is scheduling with Good Shepherd (7th St)
- First Marching Band Clinic = Thursday 5/19
