Meeting Minutes

April 8, 2019

Present:  Dan Failacci, Kate Dudash, Mike & Rhonda Hillman, Scott Lewis, Sheri Nakamoto, Traci Poppert, Dana Cunningham, Teresa Vaughn, Kim Stevens, Jeff Zalatoris
Call to Order
Meeting began at 7:32pm and was presided over by Mike Hillman, with Dan Failacci as secretary.

Approval of Previous Minutes:
March Booster Meeting minutes approved (Kim/Kate).
President’s Report:  Executive Board met for April.

Vice President’s Report: (Erik out)  
  • Sign up genius out for banquet.  Still need help with setup and cleanup.  Please consider showing up a little early or staying a little later to help out.  Lots of hands make light work.
  • Many chairperson slots open for next year – scholarship, band camp meals, etc.  If you are not considering running for a board position – please consider helping out as a chairperson.
  • Volunteer hours are due.  Please add up your hours and send me totals or any spreadsheet or word document you are using to keep track.  A tracking spreadsheet will be distributed with these minutes, if you don’t already have your own method.  Every hour counts.  Did you haul instruments around, make runs for vending/supplies/food, mend uniforms, design anything for the band, attend booster meetings, etc – all of these can be considered volunteer hours and should be accounted for.
  • ~ $33.8k incoming/$18.7k outgoing for the month
  • KIDA:  ~14.6k in/~$4.5K out – so far ($3k for judges).  Still missing kitchen, 2 custodians and receipt for food permit.
  • Yankee Candle $824 (will be on Aprils budget)
  • Band fees still rolling in.
  • Indoor guard uniforms paid
  • As always, ask Dana for specific details/questions.
Directors Report: (Nick out sick)
  • Preliminary marching band schedule should be ready by the end of the week.
  • Thursday May 2, 2019 new member meeting
  • Concert adjudication – students received a rating of 1 and will be performing at State on April 29 at Morgan State University.  Nice job!
  • Band camp dates:  7/22/19 – 8/2/19
Student Accounts: (Greg out)
  • Funds still coming in to cover fees
  • Reminder:  Banquet is coming up, and your student account must be paid up in full to attend banquet – no exceptions.
Committee Reports

  • Within $2k of budget fundraising goal.  Thanks for everyone’s help/support.
  • Will need help with fundraising committee next year.  Please consider helping out if you can.

Old Business:
Next booster meeting is the annual meeting with elections for board positions.  All positions are open.  It’s not too late to put your name on the ballot – or nominate someone for a position.
