Meeting Minutes

September 10, 2018

Call to Order
It began at 7:32 and was presided over by Mike Hillman, with Dan Failacci as secretary.

Approval of Previous Minutes:
July Booster Meeting minutes approved.  

President's Report:  Executive Board met for August.  
  • Budget reviewed as always
  • New scaffolding purchased and in use
  • Friends and Family picnic discussed – including a volunteer station
  • Formally set SCRIPS fundraiser at 80/20 split
  • Upcoming events were reviewed:
    • Senior Night 10/12
    • Marching shows for every weekend except 10/13
    • Great Pumpkin Patch – Mt. Airy 10/13-14.  Sign-up genius coming out
    • Marching Band Festival – Middletown, 10/15.  During the day so any extra help would be appreciated
    • Move up Night – 10/26
Vice President's Report:
  • Jill Phillips/Missy Carder heading up picnic:  Looking into availability of using school in the event of weather.  9/15 @ Monocacy pavilion off 16th street after performance
  • Don't forget to keep track of your volunteer hours.  They add up fast
  • For August:  ~$21.9k incoming (mostly fees), ~$8.3k outgoing.
  • Paperwork for taxes submitted
  • Remainder of the color guard uniforms have been paid
  • Band-Ade fundraiser brought in $1250.55 (lower than last year).  Last 2 car washes - $913.14.
  • See Dana for specific details/questions.
Directors Report : 
  • Attendance forms very important, as they now affect grades.  Don’t forget to submit the form when you know your child will be absent from practice/performances
  • Schedule for Saturday dicey - working logistics due to weather
  • Thanks for the help last Saturday (Urbana).  Kids had a good clinic.
  • Cindy Johnson new assistant principal and admin liaison

Student Accounts: (Greg out)
  • 52/71 students have paid in full, 19 with outstanding balances
  • 6 concert students with outstanding balances
  • March-A-Thon:  Don't forgot about this way to earn donations towards your fees
Committee Reports

  • Save the Date Spreadsheet handed out (will be sent in separate email from Kate).
  • SCRIPS – 6 families participating in first month.  Rebates earned so far - $264.55.  One family has already earned $118 in first month.  Cards go to Rhonda and she passes out Thursday nights at end of practice.  There is an app for e-cards for your phone.  9/17 is bonus rebate day
Uniform Report:
All accessories have been received and handed out.  2 bibbers are tight and need refitting.

Pit Crew report:
Need ~21 volunteers to put the show on for the students.  Props are all finished.  Big thanks to Doug Johnson who helped.  Dawn taking orders for Pt Crew spirit wear.
