About Us

Based in Frederick, Maryland, the Governor Thomas Johnson High School Band is a premier high school performing arts program with a strong tradition of excellence. The program includes a wide array of performance opportunities including Marching Band, Concert Band, Indoor Percussion, Indoor Color Guard, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Pit Orchestra. These award winning band programs are under the direction of Mr. Nicholas Gasemy and Mr. Jonathan Kurtz. All of the music programs at TJ are welcoming to any and all students that wish to learn more about music, have a passion for performing, or just want to try something new!
