High school students express creative, musical artistry at FCPS Marching Band Festival

  Under bright stadium lights on a cool October evening, students stood unwaveringly still as their eyes focused intently on their drum major, anticipating their leader's first move.
After a simple "one, two, three, four," music and movement erupted from Gov. Thomas Johnson High School's football field as family members, friends and Frederick County Public Schools staff members cheered from the bleachers.
Harmonious pitches blared from the smallest piccolo to the biggest marching tubas, or sousaphones, and members of the color guard caught flags, rifles and broomsticks as they pinwheeled downward from the air. READ MORE
