General Meeting Minutes

Present:  Carlos Slone, Dan & Denise Failacci, Kate & Erik Dudash, Nick Gasemy, Kathy Higinbotham, Jacklyn Smith, Traci Poppert, Teresa Vaughn, Ellen McGuinness, Trisha Kessler, Jenn Duthoy

Call to Order
Meeting began at 7:34pm and was presided over by Carlos Slone, with Dan Failacci as secretary.

Approval of Previous Minutes:
May Booster Meeting minutes approved. (Jacklyn/Kate)

President’s Report:  Executive Board met for May.  

• No report

Vice President’s Report:  

• Band Camp coming up.  Teresa Vaughn to send out a list of needed supplies

Secretary:

• No report

Treasurer:  

• Budget for May
  • Approx. $1250 in – fees, SCRIP, Amazon Smiles
  • Approx. $2K out – music copyright and end of year awards
• As always, ask Jacklyn for specific details/questions.

Directors Report:

• We have received some of the new instruments purchased with the money from central office.
  • 3 Clarinets, Vibe, Marimba (for concert), bassoon
• Replacement vibe keys/mallets will be purchased thru Steve Weiss Music.
• Gathering a list of things from the staff for things that will be needed for the season- reeds/valve oil, etc
• We have “a lot” of used dinkles in the uniform room.  Please consider checking the piles before purchasing new ones.  Especially since they are primarily used for competitions.
• Nick is available is people need help..

Student Accounts:

• Waiting on payments.  Need a list of the students participating to send out email reminders
• Please contact Kathy if you are unsure of your student account balance or wish to make a payment or have any student account questions.

Committee Reports

Fundraising:

• Car Wash this Saturday.  And there are 2 more on the calendar in July.
• Bingo 9/26.  Need each students to sell a few tickets each.  We want 100% participation for the kids.  There are plenty of jobs the students can legally help out with
• Plan to do a fundraising committee meeting on June 24, @ 7:30 in the parking lot during practice.  Watch for an email.
• SCRIP – Check with Denise if you have questions about SCRIP.

Are we having an award celebration?  Nick still needs to talk to Chavez in Athletics.
There are 2 Hershey Park tickets with meal – expires 6/26.  Contact Kate Dudash

Old Business:
Books need to be audited.  Dan/Carlos to audit the book before Jacklyn turns them over to the accountant.

New Business:

• At the May Annual Meeting, Ellen McGuiness was elected to 2 positions on the board - Secretary/1st VP (she did this because no one else ran for the 1st VP position).  She cannot handle both positions and has officially resigned as 1st VP. Additionally, Teresa Vaughn has officially resigned as President, to facilitate a re-election for the offices of President and 1st VP.  To fill the vacant board positions, a special election was held.  The motion was to keep the Secretary/2nd VP/Treasurer positions unchanged and elect a new President and 1st VP.  Motion carried unanimously.
