General Meeting Minutes

October 18, 2021

Call to Order
Officially began at 7:34 pm and was presided over by Traci Poppert, with Krista Allen-Bossaler filling in for Ellen McGuinness as secretary.

President’s Report -- Traci
  • KIDA Home Show = 2/12/2022 – NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS!  All families must participate – kids & parents.
  • Without more volunteers BAND FEES WILL INCREASE.
  • Ellen needs to attach monthly PDF budget report when sending monthly minutes.
  • Fundraising Chairperson needed ASAP – organizational position.  Meetings/Delegate.  Kate Dudash helping through December.
  • Child with a nut allergy for Trunk or Treat.
VP1 – Teresa
  • Uniforms –
    • Need a back-up for uniforms as she will be in CA next year.
    • Newer parents need training to be prepared.
  • Spiritwear –
    • All items are a slightly different color due to Covid storage.
    • Jackets are no longer available (supply chain issues).
    • Order forms will go out by Thursday 10/21.
VP2 (Student Accounts) – Krista
  • Asking for continued payments.  Statements sent to all that had account changes or a balance.
  • If no changes &/or paid in full &/or have a credit, then statements weren’t sent.
  • Keep track of volunteer hours!
Director’s Report -- Mr. Gasemy
  • States –
    • Performing at 8:15 pm
    • Leave 4:30 pm, 1:45 travel, awards 10 pm, return 12:15 am.
    • 12 Staff Badges, 5 Chaperone Badges
    • Tickets = $15, will get some to sell for less (20).
    • Shirts & food will be on sale – send kids with $$.
    • 1 Video Pass – need a parent volunteer.
  • Regionals –
    • 2:45/3:30 (maybe) perform
    • Leave 11 am.
    • Two schedules possible.
    • Top 12 of prelims move on to finals.
  • No rehearsal on 10/30.  Homecoming Game 10/29 6:30 pm.
    • Busses for Homecoming or a procession?  Being discussed.
  • KIDA (Indoor Percussion) – TJ hosing 2/12/22, more info to come.
    • ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!
    • Old Line is partnering with TJ – meeting 10/27, 7 pm, auditorium.
    • Auditions 11/13.
    • “How does the class work?  Can we still compete against the usual groups? – Gasemy, “We will be in an independent class but still see the “usuals” there.
Treasurer – Jaclyn
  • Report shared -- $11,711.33 IN, $15,776.16 OUT – tractor was a big expense.
  • Paying for techs & items to replace.
  • BINGO –
    • 2019 = $6,854.00
    • Current = $5,700.87
Secretary – Ellen
  • Everyone – please continue to read the monthly minutes and encourage other families to read them as well.
Chaperones -- Ellen
  • No report.
Pit Crew -- Quincy
  • VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
  • No additional report.
Fundraising
  • Kate is helping through December – need a new chairperson (management position)
  • Kitchenette = Marien Hornyak
  • Tree Pick Up – need volunteers with a pick-up truck.
  • KIDA = Mike Hillman
  • Sheets?
  • SCRIP (Denise) – 80% to student account & 20% to general fund.  Some families have paid their ENTIRE BAND FEES for the year with SCRIP!
  • Wreaths & Poinsettias (Krista)
    • Email reminder being sent.
